Matric Pass Levels

Bachelor's Degree

The highest Matric pass level required for university admission:

  • 40% in Home Language
  • 50% in four other Higher Credit subjects
  • 30% in two other subjects
  • Minimum 4 subjects must be from designated subject list
Minimum APS: 23

Diploma

Required for admission to diploma programs at universities of technology:

  • 40% in Home Language
  • 40% in four other High Credit subjects
  • 30% in two other subjects
  • Minimum 3 subjects must be from designated subject list
Minimum APS: 19

Higher Certificate

Qualifies for certificate programs at colleges and online learning:

  • 40% in Home Language
  • 40% in two other subjects
  • 30% in three other subjects
  • Minimum 2 subjects must be from designated subject list
Minimum APS: 15
